Late Nights With… Guest #1
There’s something about late night television that feels revealing.
The lights are softer. The stories stretch out. The performance drops just enough for something more honest to come through.
That’s the spirit behind our new Late Nights With… series — inspired by entertainers from TIME Magazine’s 100 most influential people of the 20th century.
Our first guest once said:
“I’m not funny. What I am is brave.”
It’s a simple line, but it says a lot. Comedy has a way of disguising risk.
When someone makes it look effortless, we forget how much vulnerability it actually takes.
To fall. To fail. To look ridiculous on purpose. To keep going anyway.
This entertainer understood that risk — and insisted on more than just applause. She pushed for creative control at a time when that wasn’t freely given. She built something bigger than a career. She helped define what television could become, and who audiences were willing to see leading it.
The influence wasn’t loud in a traditional sense. It was persistent. Strategic. Willing to take up space.
Our first guest in Late Nights With… is
Lucille Ball.
She’s one of the figures being interpreted for Artists + Entertainers, the second chapter of Influencers Over Time.
And we’re only getting started. Next guest drops next week!
